In the last 2 weeks all of our families have made a comment on our blog. THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU to all the Mums, Dads, Aunties,Uncles, Brothers,Sisters, Grandparents and cousins from all over the world for responding to our learning. We love to share what we have been learning with you. And now we know we have a BIG audience out there! Now we can go ahead and plan our party for the celebration of reaching our goal of having every family comment on our learning.

Good to see that Liam made sure that Rocket had his safety harness on! And yes he was wearing a helmet too which Liam had specially made for him. Good thinking, Liam.

Olly's Character Description of Maui

Maui was a very, very strong guy. He pushed a fish up and he made the fish into New Zealand where people live. And when I was born he was dead. Maui was clever because he made a wall by himself. His brothers stayed as still as a statue and same with him.

Liam retells the legend of Maui and the Sun.

A long time ago in the Maori land there lived a man called Maui. The sun went to fast across the sky and so the people didn’t get their work done. So Maui made a plan to get the sun. So he gathered all of his brothers to help him to cut the flax. After they had cut the flax they went to the place where the sun rose. He made a wall. When the sun was just about out of the hole, Maui leapt up onto the wall and said to the sun,” why do you go so fast across the sky?”. The sun said nothing. Then Maui got so mad that he bashed a magic bone on the sun. The sun said,” you will pay for making me go so slow”. But Maui just chuckled and said to his brothers, “let’s go home”.
