Buddy Rockets!

Today our buddy class were creating rockets. They were working in groups and had rules on the materials they could use. Here is a video of the launch!

MATHS GROUPS
DIAMONDS
We have been learning to count forwards and backwards from any number up to 100.
HOW DID WE GET ON?
Josh - I got on good going forwards. I need to practise going backwards.
Jacob - I got on pretty good. I can try a bit more to go forwards next week.
Ben - Somtimes I do it with my fingers and sometimes I do it in my head. It is easier to do it in my head.
Thomas - It is quicker doing it in my head.
Liam B - I can do it going forwards and I need to practise going backwards.
SQUARES
We have been learning to add in tens.
HOW DID WE GET ON?
Olly - I can count in tens in my head.
Georgia - I can add in tens using the containers.
Regan - I can count backwards from 100 in tens.
Hunter - I know that 4 + 3 = 7 so 40 + 30 = 70
Jonathan - I can add in tens using the beans.
Ana - I know that 2 + 2 = 4 so 20 + 20 = 40
Bella - it is easier for me to add in ones then add zero.
Dean - I start with the first number then I add the next number. I can do it fast in my head.

Reflection Friday

What Have we done?
Cam R - we learned some Spanish
Thomas - we have made some symmetrical patterns about Rona and the Moon.
Olivia - We did the cross country race!
Jonathan - we had a party for Rocket the Monkey
What have we learned?
Olly - we learned to say thank you in Spanish - gracias
Cam C - I learned that 8 and 2 more make 10
Regan - I learned that 4 plus 6 makes 10
Josh - I learned that 7 plus 3 makes 10
Michael - we learned estoy aqui - I'm here - for when we call the roll
Grace - I have learned some spanish words
Dean - I have been learning to make the words good in reading

Rockets Weekly Reflection

What Have We Done?
Hunter - made a wanted poster, Regan - Discovery Time, Olivia - sorting shapes with Kidspiration, Bella - talking about pets, Liam B - reading and retelling stories.
Ben - lots of activities on the computers. Cam C - Cross country practice

So What Have We Learned?
Michael - what 2D and 3D shapes are. Cam R - what is a homonym, Ana - what is a contraction, Katelyn - what a half turn is, Olivia - what a quarter turn is, Thomas - how to comment on someone's blog. Olivia - I have learned to do spaces all the time in writing.
Now What Can We Do Next?
Retell a different legend, find out about symmetrical shapes,find other contractions and homonyms in our poems.
